Cities and Memory is a sound programme that records both the present reality of a place, but also its imagined. The listener can choose to explore locations through their actual sounds, or explore interpretations of what those places could be – or to flip between the two different sound worlds at leisure. There are currently more than 200 sounds featured on the sound map, spread over 17 countries, from San Francisco’s main station to spiritual temple chanting in New Taipei City.
